Get ready to travel back in time to a palace that was home to royalty and the center of government, trade, art, economy and food storage. The Palace of Knossos and King Minos is a stunning archaeological masterpiece that represents Europe’s earliest city and civilization.
During this 2-hour tour, you’ll visit the picturesque seaside town of Rethymno for breakfast before exploring the Palace of Knossos with a professional guide. Discover the palace’s terraces, halls, bathing quarters and stores, which still bear evidence of how it was decorated with bright colors, and admire its mixed stone and wood architecture. You will also learn about the mysterious early society that lived in this palace and their many achievements, even though their lifespan was limited.
After the tour, visit the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, which features fine pieces of jewelry and objects excavated from the palace itself. The museum showcases different Cretan civilizations spanning over 5,500 years of history, and you’ll be amazed by its exhibits.

You’ll then have some free time to explore the alleyways of Heraklion and enjoy lunch in Crete’s seaside capital before heading back to Chania in the afternoon. The cost for this tour is 43 € per person, and there is an additional 15 € (entrance to the palace) . Children and EU citizens can enjoy discounts.
